Bitcoin is breaking out to the upside. It’s headed higher in the weeks ahead.<\/p>\n

The King of Cryptocurrencies has been quietly moving higher over the past few weeks. And now, that rally looks set to accelerate.<\/p>\n

Take a look at this updated chart…<\/p>\n\n

We turned bullish on bitcoin in late June<\/a>. We were looking for a move towards $57,000 or so to flush out the final selling pressure and set the stage for an intermediate term rally. When that move happened, the momentum indicators at the bottom of the chart stayed above their early June lows. This sort of “positive divergence” on the momentum indicators is often an early warning sign of a rally.<\/p>\n

Since then, bitcoin has been holding up well and slowly creeping higher. This action has allowed the various moving averages (the squiggly colored lines on the chart) to morph into a bullish configuration – with the 9-day EMA above the 20-day EMA, and the 20-day EMA above the 50-day MA.<\/p>\n

The last time bitcoin showed this same sort of setup, in April, the King of Cryptos gained 14% in about one month. A similar move this time would have bitcoin trading near $75,000 by mid-August.<\/p>\n

Traders should note, also, that nobody is talking about bitcoin these days. The asset has rallied 10% in three weeks. Yet, the financial television talking heads don’t seem to have noticed.<\/p>\n

That’s a good thing.<\/p>\n

It seems to me the talking heads are usually “late to the party.” By the time an asset’s move is significant enough to warrant discussion on financial television, that move is nearing an end.<\/p>\n

So, the limited attention given to Bitcoin since it started rallying three weeks ago seems like a good sign the rally still has plenty of room to run.<\/p>\n

If you bought bitcoin three weeks ago based on our analysis here in Market Minute,<\/em> congratulations. You’re in the trade and doing well so far.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t buy bitcoin, it’s not too late to do so. It sure looks to me like the King of Cryptos is headed higher for the next few weeks.<\/p>\n
